----------------------------------
Dear Friend,

Greetings from the Hemophilia Federation (India) !!

It is with great pride and pleasure that the Hemophilia Federation ( India) presents a musical evening with Shaan on 11 th Jan 2007 in aid of Hemophilia patients at 'Sports Complex Premises' of St.John's Hospital, Sarjapur Road, Bangalore.

'Shaan', a young, talented and a popular singer, began his career by singing AD jingles as a child in 1995. His first release became an instantaneous hit among the public. Apart from his albums, Shaan has sung vocals for various Bollywood films. He had been the host of the television show, Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, on Zee TV, which won the Music Programme of the Year award at the Indian Telly Awards in 2003. Shaan is the Brand Ambassador of HFI and is doing this show free of cost for the benefit of the people suffering with hemophilia.

"Shaan Nite" is dedicated to and in aid of persons with Hemophilia who battle with pain and trauma on a day to day basis. Lack of awareness, paucity of funds makes the patient struggle on a personal, social and financial front.

The sensitive people who have joined us in our mission to fight against hemophilia are our Main Sponsors : Reliance India Mobile would be our Communication partner, Exclusively heard on Radio Mirchi, Jet Airways are our traveling partners, Planet M is our music partners, Anand Sweets is our catering partners, Jay Builders & developers as well ass Kalyani Motors are our associate sponsors and International Times card would be our entertainment partner for this programme.

AURKO – Bangalore's very own sensational band will also be performing.

The Hemophilia Federation (India), has always strived to relieve and support its members in every way possible by giving timely Medical, Financial and Psychosocial help. Hemophilia Federation ( India) is a self-help non-profit NGO run by Persons with Hemophilia themselves, with help from medical fraternity. Established in 1983, today it has a network of 4 Regional Offices, 63 Chapters with over 12000 members and a Special Needs Cell for Persons with Hemophilia who have tested HIV/ HCV positive. It represents India as National Member Organization at the World Federation of Hemophilia, based in Canada and also works in close collaboration with World Health Organization and NACO, especially in the area of Safety Vs. Supply of blood products.

As we continue with our work, we hope that you will join us in our mission. We invite you to be associated with our movement by being part of the programme and support us in ticket sales as well as in spreading the awareness about this cause. We hope that your continued support will help us achieve our vision, "Hemophilia without disability, Children free of pain".

We do look forward for your kind support which would strengthen our cause.
Thanking you,
Yours Truly,
Vikash Goel
Chairman – Resource Mobilization,
Hemophilia Federation (India)"

Recognizing the growing propensity, particularly among the young and ambitious management and technical graduates, to strike out on their own as entrepreneurs and realizing the crying need of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) for critical management inputs as well as business guidance, IIMB set up the Center for Entrepreneurial studies in 1994 with a grant from Canara Bank. The Center mainly focused on offering some successful programmes to SMEs which helped them to accelerate their growth and move to a higher level of performance. The Center also offered courses on Entrepreneurship to the post graduate students of IIMB and supported research.
A generous endowment from Mr. Nadathur S Raghavan, formerly joint managing Director of Infosys Technologies Ltd, in October 1999 has provided the impetus to give a quantum jump to the activities of the Center. The Center, now known as N S Raghavan Center for Entrepreneurial Learning (NSRCEL), aims to be a world-class Center of Excellence for seeding, nurturing and promoting entrepreneurship. The activities of NSRCEL are varied and encompass such areas as teaching, research, short-term programmes, seminars/ panel discussions, incubation facilities, etc. "

Rangashankara Jan'07 schedule

Hi,
As we leave behind another year of relentless theatre performances, we look back with a sense of achievement. A play every day is not an easy feat, given that the concept did not exist in Bangalore. An achievement that puts a proud smile on our faces even as our eyes moisten!
Over these years, we have strived to bring cutting edge work from around the world to Bangalore. The offer from the Goethe Institut and Max Mueller Bhavan to bring the superlative performers Sasha Waltz and Guests of Germany for an improvised piece, and the happy occasion of the Swiss Arts Council opening its office in India with Hell's Bells and Furtive Fury from Compagnie Drift of Switzerland, both Dance Theatre performances, are gifts that once again make us feel chosen – both as the venue and collaborators. We truly hope that you will seize this opportunity to see a new kind of expression in performing arts. These are performances that are highly acclaimed the world over and it will be several months, if not years, before we can bring something similar.
The Kannada Theatre groups of Bangalore bring some exquisite new plays to Ranga Shankara this month. Aneka's Shakuntala, Samudaya's Jugari Cross, and Kalagangotri's Mysoora Mallige, are plays that are poised to be landmark productions.
Our children's production, Gumma Banda Gumma is scheduled for three shows to public and four exclusive ones to schools. You should perhaps offer this as an incentive to your kids studying hard for the imminent annual exams!
See you at RS!
