Blogs: Future Perfect?

Wherever (e.g. nimbupani ) I have voiced the following opinion of mine, I have been blasted for desecrating the holy temple of current technology fad - the blogs.

In my opinion, following kinds of blogs would not survive:
a) Personal Blogs - They are reward-expctation based blogs: Blogger's enthusiasm is fueled by expected comments. In the long run, however, the small fan following wouldn't stick with the same personal blogs! (unless the blogger is a celeb)

b) Feeder Blogs - Blogs that link to other news /stories without much to say of their own. You can also call such blogs recycling blogs. They are headed for doom, again unless they from some reputed agency (e.g. O'Reilly etc). People don't need yet another place to spoon-feed them about whats happening around on the Net. Today net users are sophisticated and know where to find the info of 'their interest'!

What will survive are the blogs that add value (no jargon) to the reader. For example, a professor in Harvard might be talking about copyright issue and thats what will remain there. Rest of 'em blogs will just vanish in the obscurity of the Net just like the millions of never-updated-anymore geocities homepages!

This latest research from Pegasus only supports my PoV. Lets see what you have to say.

Anurag Jains of the world

When I was in school (Lord Mahavira Academy), we used to have two Anurag Jain in our class. Anurag Jain 'A' and Anurag Jain 'B'. I was the latter one. I dunno though how teacher decided on which one would be A and which one would be B. A coin toss, maybe.

So you see, I lived with my identity firmly entrenched as Anurag Jain 'B' from nursery till standard 6th. Neither of us two Anurags would leave the god-forsaken place! Finally, it ended when I moved to another school for 7th grade.

And now, after so many years, it is being repeated all over again! There's an exchange student for this term from York University living on my floor. What did you say, you guessed his name? Well, congatulations. And to those who might believe in my good luck, nope I have none: the name of this guy is Anurag Jain too, you dorks. The result is confusion unlimited. Whether it is phone calls, or friends of one Anurag Jain shouting for him when the other one responds, this comedy is endless. The best part is when I met this Anurag Jain for the first time in block party, first thing he said to me was: "You have taken my domain name" (www.anuragjain.com) And I then told him: "Maybe you have taken my yahoo id!" (my yahoo id is anuragkjain and not anuragjain).

The only fact that we can take solace in, is that we also have two other exchange students, both named Phillip (one of them staying on my floor) and who also suffer from identity problems!

Anyways, we are planning to have an Anurag Jains' Association. In fact, I have recieved a few requests for the same over the years on the internet. Reckon, this will be the first association in the world without a charter.

MBA institute, anyone?

Apparently a top-10 MBA institute in Delhi is up for sale - lock, stock, and barrel! Caught this ad in the 1st October, 2003 Economic Times:

Highly Reputed, internationally renowned MBA INSTITUTE (*why did they have to do caps with this word!*) with top 10 rating fully equipped with state of the art infrastructure and faculty is available for acquistion. Placements in leading Indian and MNC corporations with high visibility. Possible utilization also for accessing high quality talent & internal training requirements. Expression of interest invited from parties with sound financial background. Please email your interest and contact to mail@techcapindia.com or contact +91-9820127156

State of the art infrastructure is understandable, but state of the art faculty? huh?

Anyways, any guesses on identity? Any takers?
