Written by Javed Akhtar, directed by Ramesh Talwar, art direction by M.S.Sathyu, and music direction by Kuldip Singh - this theatrical presentation traces the life and poetry of renowned Urdu poet Kaifi Azmi. The letters and writings of Kaifi Azmi and his wife Shaukat Kaifi are brought to life by Shabana and Javed. The early years growing up in his village Mijwan...courtship days....their wedding...life in Bombay in the 50s...Kaifi's work with mill workers...his fight against life-threatening illness... We attempt to understand Kaifi Azmi, the man behind the poet. In their inimitable style Shabana Azmi and Javed Akhtar take us through a very personal journey and share moments that will be cherished for many a lifetime.

The Saturday Night Blues Band Live at HAZE, Vasant Vihar
"Hi All!
Parikrama Inc. and Blues Club of India presents "The Saturday Night Blues Band" Live at HAZE, Vasant Vihar on July 8th (Saturday), 2006.
The Saturday Night Blues Band, one of the leading western music bands, as well as the only mainstream blues band, in India, was formed in October 1999.
The Band consists of some of the cream of Kolkata’s working musicians – Jayanta Dasgupta (lead guitar/slide guitar/blues-harp/vocals), Arunima Dasgupta (vocals/percussion), Stuart Munro (bass/vocals), Sumith Ramachandran (guitar), and Jeffrey Rikh (drums/vocals). They perform regularly (every Saturday night) at Someplace Else, the “Music Mecca” of Kolkata (The Park, Park Street, Kolkata).
Under the guidance of Jayanta Dasgupta (a veteran in the scene for over 25 years, and a guitar graduate from the Guitar Institute of Technology, Musician’s Institute, Hollywood) the band has been playing it’s forte of blues, Blues Rock and Jazz Blues, to a full house since January 2000. Starting from the Delta blues of Mississippi, to the more chic yet groovy sounds of Chicago, they cover artists like Eric Clapton, Muddy Waters, CCR, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin and The Doors, to name a few.
The band has also done a lot of special events showcasing artists such as The Beatles, Eric Clapton, The Rolling Stones and Dire Straits as well as a “Rock ‘n’ Roll Nite”. Always open to experimentation, they specialize in creating their own versions of cover songs and long instrumental jam sessions.
Soulmate the band, which needs no introduction, will also be performing at the same Venue on July 7th (Friday), 2006.
A famous man once said ·Faced with the choice between changing one's mind and proving that there is no need to do so, almost everyone gets busy on the proof·. Nothing could be more apt for the media and entertainment world at this stage.
Suddenly, words and phrases that made no sense yesterday are today being configured into our business plans. Blogosphere, podcasting, Myspace, VoIP and other equally bewildering words are entering common vocabulary and defying convention. For was it not always the broadcaster who created content and consumers who consumed it? Was it not always that our task was to reach out to consumers through the television? So, how do we react when the consumer demands her daily soap opera on her mobile phone and her game show on the net? And is content still king?
The third edition of Promax|BDA India Conference and Awards will answer all these questions and provide fascinating insights into our place in the brave new digital world.
