"Selves, Masks, Performance - a dynamic two day workshop that helps participants discover and celebrate themselves. It will open up the body by working with the five senses and with space, and spark creativity through fun improvizations and text-work using scenes from Shakespeare plays. Not only for theatre practitioners but also for those who are looking to enhance their expressive and communicative skills, the workshop takes you on a journey into a place called yourself. The workshop will especially focus on the role of drama in conflict mediation through Theatre of the Oppressed and Forum Theatre. Depending on the group composition, the workshop may also touch upon the role of drama in learning. It is open to anyone above eighteen and does not require any previous stage experience.
The workshop will be facilitated by Arka Mukhopadhyay, founder and creative director of Logos Theatre, with other members of the group.
