Nov 22: Workshop on Noise Pollution - An invitation

"Dear All,

We are all a witness to the toll that the urban noise pollution is taking on the health of citizens. Many of the ailments have been linked directly or indirectly to noise pollution.
Noise is also responsible for the general decline we see in bird population with each passing year in the urban limits. The causes of noise pollution is linked mainly to vehicles, construction and religious activities. Unfortunately, not much effort has been made to address this issue.

In order to address and manage noise pollution, The Indian Society for Environmental Studies along with The Karnataka State Pollution Control Board and The Institution of Agricultural Technologists are conducting a half a day workshop on "Noise Pollution" on the 22nd of November 2008 at H.R. Arakeri Auditiorium, Institution of Agricultural Technologists, Queen's Road, Bangalore.

Timings: 10.00 AM to 1.30 PM.

The gathering will be inaugurated by the Commissioner of Police, Bangalore, Mr. Shankar Bidri and will be addressed by eminent speakers in the field of Natural History, Judiciary and Medicine.

Looking forward to your participation.

Best Regards,

Arun Nandavar "
