A major hill-station in Chickmagalur District, Kemmannugundi is also called KR Hills, named after the Wodeyar, King Krishnaraja Wodeyar IV, Mysore, who made it his favourite summer camp. Kemmannugundi is a single, secluded hill surrounded by sprawling coffee estates, waterfalls and ornamental gardens. September-May is the best season to visit Kemmannugundi. Situated on the Baba- Budan range at a height of 4,702 ft. above sea level, Kemmannugundi is the ideal place to get away from the heat and dust, the crowds and traffic jams of the cities.
