Aug 25 batch: Learn filmmaking at MIM

"Dear All,

MIM, better known as "Magic in Motion", has been teaching the Art and Craft of filmmaking for the past eleven years now. We have put over 300 people of all ages into the
industry, and they have all been valued and appreciated from day 1, for their understanding, and ability to fit right into the team. We have also taught people who have not wanted to join the mainstream media; people who have wanted to learn the nuances of filmmaking merely for the love of it, or to pursue their own passion. We have constructed a tightly packed eight week workshop to enable working professionals to follow their heart, along with their profession. In this intensive framework, we work together, as a team, working up from the basics, to a 10 minute film, made by the students themselves.

Time: 3 days a week, 7.30am to 9am and 8am to 6pm
on Saturday's
Venue: Alliance Francaise de Bangalore

Prerequisites: Only enthusiasm! No equipment, no prior knowledge, no portfolio. We start you from the scratch

Areas covered: Still photography, sound, camera, scripting, direction, production and editing

Initially all practicals are done individually but as the course progresses , there is more work in pairs and eventually teams. There are practical exercises at the end of every week, a lighting workshop, an exercise in the sound studio, several exercises with the camera and two films to allow the students to put the elements of filmmaking together in their own way. It is most definitely a course where the student must learn by doing it himself.

MIM provides all the equipment required, we do not ask students to buy equipment. We teach in very small batches, of between 6 and 10 students, as we focus on every individual's progress more than the final product.
