The Flying Eye: Retrospective Michael Ballhaus July 4 - 6 & 11 - 13

We are screening a series of films from the early phase of Germany's most famous cinematographer, Michael Ballhaus who gained world fame also with films like The Departed. Ballhaus developed his unique style while collaborating with German director Rainer Werner Fassbinder. During this series, we will look at the films from a totally different angle, to appreciate the techniques and features used to involve the audience in the film. Award-winning Indian cinematographer Sunny Joseph will inaugurate the series with a lecture: Eye to Eye - the Cinematographic Art of Michael Ballhaus. For the screening schedule and more information: Retrospective Michael Ballhaus

Bangalore City Project: OORU-NEERU Hessarghatta Urban Space Event on July 6

Bangalore City Project invites you to Part 4 in its current series of Urban Space Events. This time we will venture a little further afield to Hessarghatta, 24 km away from Bangalore – and discover the original source of the City's water supply. The Hessarghatta Urban Space Event is being organised for the Bangalore City Project by S. Vishwanath who writes extensively on water issues and who will offer valuable insights into the water story from the historical as well as the contemporary perspective. OORU-NEERU is a unique initiative - not to be missed! A bus has been arranged to ferry a limited number of participants to Hessarghatta and back. If you don't manage to get onto the bus list, you are welcome to make your own way to the venue, preferably in self-organised car pools. As always we request you to be punctual. For registration and further details: OORU-NEERU - A Water Walk
