Jul 13: iVolunteer's Blood Donation Camp at Indira Gandhi Institute of Child Health 
"Save lives by donating blood ---- iVolunteer's Blood Donation Camp on 13th July 2008 at Indira Gandhi Institute of Child Health:-

iVolunteer in association with Lions Club of Bangalore, Sanjaynagar are having a voluntary blood donation camp on Sunday 13th July 2008 between 10.00 AM to 12.30 PM at Indira Gandhi Institute of Child Health. This hospital caters to children and also issues blood to others when available in stock. Our holding a camp there for the hospital will benefit the children admitted there as also others to whom they issue blood if available in stock.

This is a wonderful opportunity available to you, to help save lives by donating blood. Those of you who can join to donate blood are requested to send in a confirmation mail to lbline@lionsbloodli ne.com copying me at prarthana@ivoluntee r.in so that an idea of likely persons responding is known and arrangements are made accordingly.

Basic eligibility conditions:

Ø Age between 18 & 55, weigh more than 45 kg and not suffering from any ailment and not on any medication.
Ø Varying waiting periods are there from 3 months onwards for those who had tattooing, tooth extraction, ailments like malaria, typhoid, jaundice, surgery, etc
Ø Minimum gap of 3 months to be kept after a blood donation and blood donation should not be made on empty stomach and so willing persons to come after having had breakfast and a good night sleep.
Ø Ladies should not donate during menstrual period and within one year of delivery.

Details on how to reach the hospital:

a. >From Brigade Road side

Indira Gandhi Institute of Child Health is one can say situated inside NIMHANS Hospital Campus close to Forum/Dairy Circle. When coming from Brigade Road, cross Baldwin Girls School/College, Elgin Apts(Red Brick colour apt on right side of the road), continue straight and turn right at Cemetery Junction and proceed crossing Marble godowns/MICO Factory rear gate towards Diary Cirlce. Enquire for NIMHANS Hospital which is on the left side while their Admin block is on the right. One has to enter the Nimhans gate, cross Psychiatry Wards, Emergency & Casualty, Neuro Block and come out at the back side and then the building facing is Indira Gandhi Inst of Child Health. Ample parking space is there inside the hospital campus.

b. >From Double Road /Shanthi Nagar/Wilson Garden

Go on Double Road upto Lalbagah Gate and take a left turn towards Wilson Garden Crematorium which will come on the left and continue straight for about 2 km. Nimhans Convention Centre will be on the right as also Hospital entrance. Go all the way till you can take a U Turn as Gate to enter is on side of Convention Centre where boards are there. One has to enter the Nimhans gate, cross Psychiatry Wards, Emergency & Casualty, Neuro Block and come out at the back side and then the building facing is
Indira Gandhi Inst of Child Health. Ample parking space is there inside the hospital campus.

c. If coming from Christ College side

One has to enter the Nimhans gate, cross Psychiatry Wards, Emergency & Casualty, Neuro Block and come out at the back side and then the building facing is Indira Gandhi Inst of Child Health. Ample parking space is there inside the hospital campus.

Basically, come to Diary Circle and enquire and enter Nimhans Hospital Gate.
