The complexity of IT initiatives has gone up significantly. IT Programs (related to product development, as well as services & solution rollouts) are typically complex, and may involve implementing multiple interdependent projects in parallel. Handling such programs involves aligning them with business strategy, managing multiple stakeholders, and ensuring delivery of benefits. In this context, Program Management competency is becoming critical for organizational success.
In this workshop, participants will gain a perspective of the business context of IT Programs, issues and challenges involved in IT program management, the skills required to successfully manage global IT programs, and how a Program Management Office (PMO) approach can be leveraged to provide governance for successful execution. The Workshop also introduces to the audience the global "Standard for Program Management" by PMI, USA.

Understanding the relationship between Portfolios, Programs and Projects
Defining the expectations from Program Management and role of Program Managers in IT Organizations
Understanding the skills required for the Program Management role
Detailed discussion of the key themes and knowledge areas for successful program management (Stakeholder Management, Benefits Management and Governance)

Faculty: Narasimham R V Currently an entrepreneur, trainer, and consultant, Narasimham R V has well rounded leadership and consulting experience in the global IT services industry. His areas of expertise include, IT business leadership, general management, service delivery, and program management for global IT services. His workshops on Project, Program and Account Management have been well received at companies such as Satyam, Genpact, Infineon, Symbian and others over the last one year.
Until May2006, as a General Manager at Wipro Technologies, Bangalore, India, he was heading the Industrial & General Manufacturing business practice. He has to his credit, the successful delivery of one of the largest systems integration programs (USD $70 Million implementation) done by an offshore service provider, for a UK company.
Before joining Wipro in 1999, he worked as a Consultant with Deloitte Consulting, USA, and with Keane, USA. He has a Masters degree in engineering from University of Missouri-Rolla, USA, certification in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) from APICS, USA and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP). He has completed executive management program from IIM-Bangalore.
