Companies participating in NASSCOM's quest for innovative ICT organizations will gain recognition and acknowledgment from the sector.
The winners would find the spotlight on them at the prestigious Annual Conference held in Mumbai every year. This will provide a plank for these innovators, where they would be able to share their experiences and contributions to the industry.
The case studies of successful participants will be compiled and presented in a separate Handbook that encapsulates the efforts and success of leading innovators in the market.
The successful companies will also find a place on NASSCOM's Web sites and newsletters such as NASSCOM Newsline and BPO Newsline.

IT Innovation in India - Showcasing the Innovative companies

NASSCOM, India's premier trade body and the Chamber of Commerce of the IT software and services industry, heralds the initiative that celebrates the Indian spirit of innovation in the IT industry for the third time.

Overview

The Indian IT-BPO industries, which have achieved significant maturity and consolidation over the past few years, are now set for their next phase of evolution and momentum. Having explored various dimensions for achieving global leadership and building competitive advantage through rightly skilled, industry-relevant, specialized manpower, robust infrastructure and a conducive regulatory environment, the IT-BPO industry is on the hunt for a new success mantra.

In order to promote innovation within Indian IT-BPO organizations, especially the energetic and proactive emerging companies, NASSCOM has been spearheading a special initiative. Designed to recognize companies that have made innovation a part of their organizational DNA, and used the innovation engine to reinvent their processes, marketing and product development strategiesNASSCOM's Innovation Awards have been a first for the IT-BPO sector.

Last year, these prestigious recognitions were conferred on eight companies, by the President of India, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam. In light of the significance that is being attached to these Awards, we invite you to participate in this NASSCOM endeavor and share with us the milestones in your journey towards innovation.

Award Categories for 2006

The NASSCOM IT Innovation in India Awards 2006 aim to highlight different facets of IT innovation in India process, business models and products. Process innovation involves the implementation of a new or significantly improved production or delivery method. Business Model innovation involves changing the way business is done in terms of capturing value Product innovation, involves the introduction of a new good or service that is new or substantially improved. This might include improvements in functional characteristics, technical abilities, ease of use, or any other dimension. In addition, the awards this year aim to identify innovation with specific focus on the vertical industry.

The NASSCOM IT Innovation in India award aims to encourage, support and reward innovative approaches and breakthrough solutions and recognize the people and the organizations behind these endeavors.

Methodology

An independent panel of Industry Key People, Prominent Academicians, Venture Capitalists and representatives from NASSCOM's Executive Panel would review and rate the answers given in the application form.

The shortlisted companies will be audited by a board of experts and 8 winners would be selected from all over the country. Shorlisted companies will be provided an opportunity to present to the panelist and other invitees in the last week of Oct or the first week of Nov in different regions.

The winners will be duly informed and invited to the prestigious Annual Conference held in Mumbai every year.
