Protest rally on 6th aug at 6 pm at the music strip rock

enough is enough !!

A 'live band' today signifies a prostitution racket to the police and journalist fraternity and the efforts of musicians to share the joy of music with their audiences are treated with the attitude reserved for law breakers by our policemen To musicians who devote the best part of their lives to cultivating and playing music in a band, it is the ultimate insult .

The FREEDOM JAM, free music festival, an expression of Bangalore's musical traditions - an open stage where musicians of various genre's perform original music through the night to a receptive cosmopolitan audience of thousands on the eve of Independence day was stopped and the instruments of crime - music equipment - jailed on Independence day.

enough is enough.!!

it's time for music lovers to make their presence felt in this democracy we live in.

So if you believe in the freedom and the power of music please come over at 6 pm on Friday the 6th of Aug to the music strip rock behind Queen Vicky's statue in Cubbon park - the place where it all started back in the eighties and join in a protest parade down MG's promenade and represent our views to the members of the press and police - and if you have a message please feel free to express it anyway you would like-

We need to make a scene, to stop being taken for granted, so please forward this to any of your friends who might be sympathetic to the cause.

P.S. The venue and timing of the 8th annual FREEDOM JAM 2004, free music festival, will also be announced there. One of the important issues is to rally for official permission to play music through the night of Independence.
