Hello,
You are cordially invited to a dance recital on the evening of Saturday, September 6, 2003, at 6:00pm in the Auditorium. The function is to welcome exchange students who have arrived from universities around the world. The recital will be performed by dancers from the Attakkalari Centre for Movement Arts who specialize in, and are renowned for, interdisciplinary and fusion dance forms. A short write-up on the Centre is appended below.

Attakkalari Centre for Movement Arts
Established in Alwaye in Kerala since 1992, Attakkalari has moved to our new premises in Bangalore since July 2001. Attakkalari Centre for Movement Arts is committed to interdisciplinary performance work and is an umbrella organization facilitating and producing international arts events. ACMA is engaged in creating a context for contemporary physical expressions in India by making information from Indian performance traditions as well as international performing arts scene available in an accessible format for young artists and for the general public alike. It=FFs a public charitable trust formed by artists from different disciplines to facilitate the development of contemporary expressions in dance in India. Attakkalari is supported by Sir Ratan Tata Trust. Its creative projects are often supported by central and state Culture Departments, central and state Sangeet Natak Akademi, South Zone Cultural Centre, central and state Tourism Departments, India Foundation for the Arts, ICCR, British Council, Max Mueller Bhavan, Alliance Francaise, business houses etc. as well as various arts organisations from India and abroad.
Apart from its ongoing training, production and education outreach work, Attakkalari has conducted several national and international events including festivals, seminars and residencies. Attakkalari=FFs productions often are in the cross-art genre using cutting edge technology and digital arts. Attakkalari has an extensive education outreach programme.
