Internationally acclaimed performer and award-winning composer, Pt. Rajeev Taranath is today one of the world's leading exponents of the sarod. A distinguished disciple of Maestro Ali Akbar Khan, his performances masterfully combine the depth and rigor of the tradition of Hindustani classical music with an inspired imagination and emotional intensity. About SPICMACAY:

SPICMACAY, The Society for the Promotion of Indian Classical Music and Culture Amongst Youth is a non-profit, voluntary, apolitical and participatory student movement. It is dedicated to enriching education through the spread and appreciation of India's classical heritage and sensitizing the average student to the aesthetics of the Indian classical milieu, especially to the performing arts.

The movement seeks to provoke thought and a genuine spirit of enquiry in the young and provide a solid value based education, which involves the absorption and aesthetics and spirituality in an increasingly technical, mundane and competitive world.

SPICMACAY is a youth movement, educational in spirit and locates itself only in schools and colleges. All our events are non-commercial, non-ticketed and organized only in educational institutions. We hope that every person's life becomes just that much more enhanced, not only by attending a programme but also by getting involved with the movement.
