Movies over the weekend: Shrek, Kaakka Kaakka, Andaaz Apna Apna, Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?
Lots of movies happened this weekend. I watched "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?" (WAoVW). Now, I was told that VW was a feminist writer and hence I thought the movie was about anti-feminism. Now, I watched the movie and I still thought it was a dig on feminism! Only, the Net says it isn't! The title is a mere play on a song 'Who's afraid of the bad wolf?" and apparently the director of the original play that this movie is based on, saw this line on a bathroom grafitti! You can see (warning: spoliers ahead!) some explainations here and here. The movie's whole cast was nominated for oscars and 2 out of 4 actually won! Anyways, the movie is quite gripping. Its set in one single night and involves a lot of psychological, sub-conscious dimensions, if you are the arty type. If you ain't the arty type, heck u wont understand it much like I didn't. Then later in the night, I watched the remaining CD of Shrek in my room. Its a wonderful movie and most of you must have watched it already I am sure. Gawd, gimme a princess like that!. Anyways, now to talk about movies in campus on the weekend, 1. Lets start with Sambar Mafia's "Kaakka Kaakka" Jeeves wrote at 1:15 pm on Sun, Sep 7 2003: 2.
